Position Purpose:
Plan, organize, direct and control day to day operations to achieve department and plan objectives while following applicable safety, process and procedural standards.
Principle Accountabilities
1. Establish the plant’s strategic goals and objectives and ensure alignment with the business team.

19. Review and use the monthly profit and loss statements to ensure expense control and proactively plan production goals.

Essential Skills and Experience

- Master’s degree in Operations Management would be an asset.

Plant Manager
THE ROLE
Gotham Greens is seeking passionate, driven, and hardworking individual to fill a position as a Plant Manager for our Hollis, Queens Facility. This is a hands-on visible position requiring direct oversight of labor management, production process, packaging, and distribution. The ideal candidate will be results driven, comfortable rolling up their sleeves, and capable of interacting with individuals at all levels of the organization. Experience with harvesting, packing and warehouse operations, managing inbound and outbound logistics, staff training and shift schedules; and proven success in achieving cost reductions and efficiencies in plant operations is required. Experience opening and establishing a new manufacturing facility is highly preferred.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Manages day-to-day operations of plant performance, product and packing quality, inventory control, cost, productivity, distribution, food and employee safety
- Ensures ongoing facility compliance with company quality, sanitation, and Food Safety standards

- Gives work direction, resolves problems, and sets deadlines to ensure timely completion of daily tasks
- Monitors and analyzes costs, prepares budgets and has direct oversight of the Green House P&L

Plant Manager- Newark
Plans, directs, administers, and controls production of various products in accordance with customer and Company specifications. Uses knowledge of product technology, processes, production methods and procedures, and equipment capabilities to produce Company products safely and in an environmentally responsible manner. Establishes production and quality control standards, develops budget, cost controls, and obtains data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered in coordination with management. Plans and directs production activities and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
Responsibilities:
1. Obtain and maintain a blue seal NJ state boiler license. Provide boiler coverage during the winter when other supervisory staff is not available.
2. Set the supervisory and boiler schedules to ensure no gaps in coverage.
3. Review and maintain with the ERA Director the plant emergency response procedures and call lists.
4. Participate in and support the PSM, ISO and Change Management processes.
5. Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance, quality control, etc. to obtain optimum production and utilization of employees and equipment.
6. Evaluates and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of non-conformity with product specifications, operating, and production problems.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project Management. Working knowledge of BPCS a plus.
