Practice Manager
Under guidance, is responsible for the management of the operational, financial, and administrative activities of a clinical practice
Job Responsibilities
- Ensures compliance with regulatory audits/inspections and/or internal reviews. Develops and recommends corrective action plans to address deficiencies identified. May serve as liaison to audit team(s) during on-site visits.
- Maintains inventory of supplies, equipment and/or reagents. May order supplies/equipment/reagents as authorized or ensure that needs are escalated appropriately. Receives supply orders and confirms accuracy of delivery. May assist with cost control.
- Ensures that facilities and equipment are in optimal and proper working condition. Coordinates preventative maintenance and repairs as needed. May perform minor repairs if qualified and as needed. May advise on upgrades for performance enhancements.

Practice Manager – Ambulatory Services
This position is responsible for supervising the non-clinical staff, maintaining the scheduling templates for providers, monitoring the quality of the scheduling data, training and orienting of new staff, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the department. Is cognizant of the philosophy, standards, objectives and policies of the Department and the Hospital Center.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Supervises the administrative/clerical staff, including Patient Service Representatives, Secretaries, and Administrative Assistants, in regard to appropriate allocation of personnel and assignment of activities, including redeployment of personnel to cover planned absenses (e.g. vacation and/or personal time) and unanticipated absences (e.g. sick time).
- Ensure adequate staffing coverage of administrative and clerical areas, including managing requests for float coverage from PACC administration.
- Supervises daily operational issues of patient flow, billing and registration, medical record retrieval, patient eligibility, and follow-up on missed appointments.
EDUCATION REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s Degree Required. Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration or Business/Public Administration Preferred.
EXPERIENCES AND/OR SKILLS REQUIRED
- Familiarity with ambulatory practice management.
- Excellent organization skills and demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff, and to withstand the pressures that may arise in relation to dealing with physicians, the public and staff.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and to deal calmly with individuals under stress.
